At The Faraji Foundation, education is the most powerful tool we can use to break the cycle of poverty and open the doors to opportunity. Our education programs are designed to equip children and youth in Tanzania with the knowledge, confidence, and skills they need to create brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
Through a holistic, community-driven approach, we are removing barriers to education and building a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Our Sponsorship Program has transformed the lives of over 170 children by providing access to quality education across Tanzania. These children are no longer just students — they are future doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, and leaders.
We are proud to share the success of more than 47 youth who have completed their education and become professionals, including:
13 in the health sector (doctors and nurses)
25 in the business sector (including mechanics, tourism workers, IT professionals, and entrepreneurs)
6 in the education sector (teachers)
2 in social work
Currently, over 100 children are enrolled in schools around the country, actively pursuing their dreams through your support.
Education starts with a safe and inspiring environment. Just minutes from our orphanage lies Chombo Primary School, a 60-year-old institution that was once neglected and in disrepair. Two years ago, we stepped in.
Since then, our renovation project has focused on:
Rebuilding classrooms
Providing desks, books, and supplies
Creating a cleaner and more engaging learning space
This initiative now supports over 200 students and is a model for how community action can revitalize public education.
Large class sizes in public schools often mean that students don’t get the individual attention they need to excel. That’s why we created the Top Threes Program — an academic support initiative offering:
After-school tutoring
Weekend tests
Reward-based motivation for top performers
The program encourages healthy competition, enhances subject comprehension, and gives children the tools to succeed academically.
Through our Tuleeni Academy and Akili Daycare, we provide free pre-primary education to children aged 2 to 6 from the surrounding community. Many of these children face financial hardship and would otherwise be left behind.
Our early education program offers:
A safe, nurturing learning environment
Age-appropriate curriculum and creative play
Daily meals and emotional support
As the program grows, we aim to expand into a full primary school, giving even more children a chance to learn, grow, and succeed from the earliest age.
