The ceilings are in, the windows are in, and walls are resurfaced!

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to begin the construction of the first classroom at Chombo Primary School! We’ve got the veranda and stairs complete on the outside, and have gotten the inside of the first room in progress! Most importantly, this means that with the stairs, the campus is now safer for students during the rain.

We are pleased to announce that we will soon begin working to renovate Chombo Primary School in Uru, Tanzania. This is the primary school that Mama Faraji attended as a child, and it is the local government school for the new orphanage. It means a lot to be able to help this school of 400 children. Currently the school is need of many repairs, windows, doors, books, updated washrooms etc. As you can see by the current photos, the roof does not attach to the walls in all rooms, there are no steps which causes children, and teachers, to slide and slip in the rainy season, and many doors have no doors or windows to protect from the elements.
