It is with a heavy heart that we announce that the washrooms at Chombo collapsed and are no longer usable. Thankfully this occurred overnight and no students were on campus to be harmed. However, this leaves 400 students without any toilets. This will significantly increase the risks of outbreaks of diseases such as cholera and yellow fever. While we are so happy that this happened overnight, and we avoided a tragedy, we cannot stress enough the importance of getting the school finished to avoid further potentially deadly incidents. This is EXACTLY why we felt it necessary to help this school renovate and become a safe learning space. We are asking that the community members give what little they have to spare to help with the costs to rebuild the washrooms, we hope that this will encourage anyone who has been putting off donating, or choosing between us and another organization to choose ours. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible!
